Kutatócsoportunk munkatársa, Demeter Gábor (HUN-REN BTK Történettudományi Intézet) 2025. június 26-27-én Regensburgban vett részt a Matthias Morys (University of York & IOS, Regensburg), Egry Gábor (Politikatörténeti Intézet, Bp. & Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin) és Elżbieta Kwiecińska (Lengyel Tudományos Akadémia, Varsó) által szervezett tudományos konferencián (12th IOS Annual Conference 2025 - Leibniz Institute for East and South-East European Studies, Regensburg: Continuity and Change in the Economic Trajectories of Central, East and South-East Europe in the Long 20th Century), Regional inequalities, backwardness and peripheralization in Hungary 1880-2022 – a reconstruction of historical HDI c. előadással, melyet a projekt másik két kutatójával, Földvári Péterrel (University of Amsterdam, Economics and Business, Hollandia) és Szilágyi Zsolttal (Debreceni Egyetem, Történelmi Intézet), valamint Pénzes Jánossal (Debreceni Egyetem, Földtudományi Intézet) közösen tartottak. Előadásukban a magyarországi regionális egyenlőtlenségek elmúlt 150 évének bemutatása mellett vázolták a perifériák területi elhelyezkedésének változását, a fejlettség és ez egyenlőtlenség hosszútávú trendjeit, a Kondratyev-ciklusokkal mutatott párhuzamokkal, valamint rekonstruálták/újrakalkulálták az 1960-as és 1920-as jövedelemegyenlőtlenségeket is, levéltári források alapján.

A member of our research group, Gábor Demeter (HUN-REN BTK Institute of History) participated in the scientific conference (12th IOS Annual Conference 2025 - Leibniz Institute for East and South-East European Studies, Regensburg: Continuity and Change in the Economic Trajectories of Central, East and South-East Europe in the Long 20th Century), Regional inequalities, backwardness and peripheralization in Hungary 1880-2022 – a reconstruction of historical HDI c.with a presentation, which they gave together with the other two researchers of the project, Péter Földvári (University of Amsterdam, Economics and Business, Netherlands) and Zsolt Szilágyi (University of Debrecen, Institute of History), and János Pénzes (University of Debrecen, Institute of Earth Sciences).In their presentation, in addition to presenting the past 150 years of regional inequalities in Hungary, they outlined the changes in the territorial location of the peripheries, the long-term trends of development and this inequality, with parallels with Kondratyev cycles, and they also reconstructed/recalculated the income inequalities of the 1960s and 1920s, based on archival sources.
