Beatrix F. Romhányi holds degrees in medieval archaeology, classical philology and medieval studies. Since 2015 she has been a doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her fields of interest and publications include medieval church history, especially monastic history, economic history, historical demography, and regional differences. She has published on the economic activities of religious orders in Hungary and Central Europe, and on changes in the medieval settlement network and population distribution.
