Béla Zsolt Szakács, art historian, university professor Head of the Department of Art History at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University. His research fields include medieval architecture, Christian iconography and the history of monument protection. He was dealing with the visual world of the Hungarian Angevin Legendary (published in Hungarian in 2006 and in English in 2016), the Romanesque architecture of Transdanubia (2021) and the emergence of Gothic architecture in the Spiš and Sariš region (2023). Editor of a handbook on liturgical arts (2019). Recently he is studying the regional aspects of medieval architecture of Hungary.
