Brigitta joined our research group in Summer 2024, after reading the first issue of Duj Džene – Two Together and hearing about the project from her neighbour, Izabella Ábri, a long-term participant. She was a member of the audience and took an active part in the discussion on the launch of the journal in July 2024, which was broadcast by the local television in Tiszavasvári. Brigitta, like many others who live in the bilingual Roma neighbourhood, works on temporary, casualised contracts in a nearby meat-processing plant, as the availability of work is often scarce and temporary. Brigitta has school-aged children and enjoys writing and speaking in public both in Romani and Hungarian.
