Réca is a long-term Roma contributor of our participatory research projects in Tiszavasvári. She is one of the most permanent members of our team, who finds pleasure in co-authoring texts, sharing her views, and life story, regarding these activities as part of the heritage she leaves behind for her grandchildren. She lives in a busy part of the Roma neighbourhood, supporting some of her adult children and daughters-in-law, and looking after her grandchildren who share a household with her. She has participated in writing a Romani storybook, translating and authoring texts in local Romani, and in writing the volume summarising the outcome of our translanguaging project (Heltai, J. and Tarsoly, E. (eds.). 2023. Translanguaging for Equal Opportunities. Speaking Romani at School. Berlin: De Gruyter). She has been a member of Duj Dzséne – Two Together’s editorial team from the outset. Her current projects with us include writing the story of her life jointly with a PhD student and consulting us about an international journal article which explores Réca’s journey as a local researcher and her authorial voice.
