2013. június 11-én a Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem Magyar Nyelvtudományi Tanszéke és Terminológiai Kutatócsoportja, az ELTE Magyar Nyelvtudományi és Finnugor Intézete, valamint a Magyar Nyelvtudományi Társaság a Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem Bölcsészettudományi Karán Névtan és terminológia 2: Névtan és egységesítés címmel workshopot szervezett. A workshop az 1913-as magyar Helységnévtár megjelenésének és az 1963-ban életre hívott első földrajzinév-bizottság létrehozásának évfordulója kapcsán a helynév-standardizáció eredményeire, aktuális feladataira kívánta felhívni a figyelmet, a kérdéskörben érdekelt több szakma képviselőinek bevonásával.

Terminology workshop in Hungary

The Department of Hungarian Linguistics and the Research Group on Terminology of Károli Gáspár University, the Institute of Hungarian Language of Eötvös Loránd University and the Society of Hungarian Linguistics organized a workshop entitled “Onomastics and Terminology 2: Onomastics and Standardization” on 11th June. On the occasion of the anniversary of the publication of the 1913 Gazetteer of Hungary and the 1963 establishment of the first Hungarian committee on geographical names, the workshop addressed issues relating to the results and current challenges of geographical names standardization in Hungary, involving representatives of different fields of science and professions.
