Kutatási terület: Japán modern kori története. A magyar-japán kapcsolatok története. A turanizmus. Japán kultúrtörténet és összehasonlító kultúratudomány. Kulturális identitás és modernizáció.

Oktatott tárgyak: Japán történelem előadások, szemináriumok. Magyar-japán kapcsolatok. Japán országismeret, vallástörténet. Történelem és társadalomtudományi specializáció felelős oktatója.

Oktatás a kétszintű képzésben: az alapképzésben a történelem és kultúrtörténet specializáció a 3-6. félévben, heti 2-4-4-2 órában. Mesterképzésben A modern Japán történelem kérdései I-II., Japán-magyar kapcsolatok I-II., Modern japán eszmetörténet, Tutorális foglalkozások (1x2 órában).
