Kutatási tevékenység, profil rövid leírása:
Az Anglisztika Intézet a KRE BTK egyik legdinamikusabban fejlődő intézete. Ezt legjobban az utóbbi nyolc évben kidolgozott és bevezetett új tárgyak száma és a hagyományos tárgyak tartalmi és módszertani megújítása mutatja. Kutatócsoportunk alapvető célkitűzése, hogy folytassa az innovációt az alábbi fő területeken: tanulásmódszertan, tanításmódszertan, kutatásmódszertan, tananyagfejlesztés.
A Kar által szorgalmazott digitális megújulásban kutatócsoportunk három tanára is részt vett, az ő tudásuk elengedhetetlen a további digitális tananyagok fejlesztésében. A szakmódszertan mellett kutatásmódszertani ismereteket is segítenénk egymásnak és az Intézet tanárainak átadni. A harmadik célunk az újonnan bevezetett Angol diszciplináris MA Alkalmazott nyelvészet specializáció tananyagainak kidolgozása digitálisan és/vagy könyv formátumú jegyzet formában.
Csoportunkban a doktori iskolát megkezdett tanársegédtől egészen a habilitációját előkészítő docensig a pálya különböző szakaszán lévő oktatók megtalálhatók, valamint BA, MA és osztatlan tanári képzésben tanulók is segítik munkánkat, tanulnak tőlünk, felkészülhetnek a doktori programra.

2022. szeptember 1-jén indult kétéves kutatási projektünk (Nyelv)tanulás, tanítás és kutatás - módszertan címmel a KRE-BTK finanszírozásában.
Kutatócsoportunk fontos vívmánya a gyakorló tanár kollégák bevonása kutatói és innovációs tevékenységünkbe, tanszékeken és iskolákon átívelő kapcsolatok kialakítása.

"On April 14th, we had the opportunity to talk to professors of KRE and teachers from various high schools about German and English methodology. There are many among us who teach in two languages, which is a clear opportunity that we need to take more advantage of in many ways. We would like to work together and share our experiences further. We discussed the similarities and differences of teaching English and German, and also spoke about the different aspects of student motivation. We came to the conclusion that the teacher’s attitude is key for students' learning. A "good teacher" is the one who is willing to learn and change in order to reach her goals in teaching. "
"Am 14ten April hatten wir die Möglichkeit mit Professorinnen der KRE und Lehrerinnen von verschiedenen Gymnasien über die deutsche und englische Methodik und Didaktik zu sprechen. Wir haben über die Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschieden diskutiert und auch die verschiedenen Gründe der Schülermotivation erwähnt. Zusammenfassend haben wir gesagt, dass ganz viel von der Einstellung des Lehrers abhängt. Wenn die Lehrkraft über die Absicht verfügt, immer ein bisschen mehr zu lernen und zu ändern, um ihr Ziel zu erreichen, dann spricht man schon über "gute" LehrerInnen. Unter uns gibt es viele zweisprachige LehramtsstudentInnen, deswegen hatten wir die Idee, daraus irgendwie einen Vorteil zu ziehen. Später möchten wir daran zusammenarbeiten und unsere weiteren Erfahrungen miteinander teilen."

Research activity, brief description of profile:
The Institute of English Studies is one of the most dynamically developing institutes of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE BTK). This is best demonstrated by the number of new courses developed and introduced over the past eight years, as well as by the content-related and methodological renewal of traditional courses. The primary aim of our research group is to continue innovation in the following key areas: learning methodology, teaching methodology, research methodology, and materials development.
As part of the digital renewal promoted by the Faculty, three members of our research group have actively participated in this process, and their expertise is indispensable for the further development of digital teaching materials. In addition to subject-specific methodology, we also aim to share research methodology knowledge with one another and with the teaching staff of the Institute. Our third objective is to develop the teaching materials of the newly introduced English Disciplinary MA specialisation: Applied Linguistics, either in digital form and/or as book-format course notes.
Our group includes instructors at various stages of their academic careers, ranging from teaching assistants who have begun their doctoral studies to senior lecturers preparing for habilitation. In addition, students enrolled in BA, MA, and undivided teacher education programmes also support our work, learn from us, and prepare for entry into doctoral programmes.
